The Street of Dreams PDX, 2013, Concludes with record crowds and energy !

by John DeCosta, Keller Williams Portland Premiere

The incredibly successful, 2013 Portland Street of Dreams is now closed.  The nine homes were fabulous in every way. Seven of the homes were pre-sold. Two of the homes were built on speculation. Both homes have received written offers, and the builders are working to complete sales with their interested prospects.

The show ran from July 27 to August 25.

The first day saw huge crowds, and the crowds seemed to increase every day. Yesterday was the final day, and the people were lined up from the start time to the close of the show at 9:00 PM.  The last people left our Street House at 9:30 PM.

Comments on the homes and the economy were very positive. It seems that Oregon is back on track. Many of the visitors made multiple trips to get all of the decorating ideas firmly understood.  The amount of information on all of the homes in the press guide magazine and the online magazine is a national treasure.  The online magazine listed all of the subcontractors who performed their magic on the homes. It gave details and contact information.

What a resource to have as you do some projects around your home.

For me personally, it was the greatest opportunity to see old friends from my 35 years of selling homes in Lake Oswego. All of the old times came back to life. What a thrill to have so many friends and past clients take the time to reminisce on the times we helped them into and out of their homes.

I think I have enough notes and contacts to keep me busy for the next year.

What a rewarding experience meeting so many people who care about homes almost as much as I do, and what a reminder of why we all love Oregon and especially the Portland-Lake Oswego area so much.

Our neighborhoods are filled with many very special people.

Cheers to all,      John DeCosta
